Controller

The person named in the legal notice is responsible for data processing on this website.

Hosting

The website and the short link service run on the infrastructure of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as IP address, time and browser information to deliver the page and protect it from attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Shortening and editing links

When you shorten a link, we store the target address and the time of creation. The short link is public: anyone who knows it can open it.

The edit link is derived from the short link and a secret key. We do not store it and cannot recover it.

To prevent abuse, we derive a non-reversible hash from your IP address that changes daily. Only this value is counted for the limits and it is deleted when the day ends. We do not store the IP address itself.

Reports

When you report a short link, we store the reason and your optional details with the affected link in order to review the report. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Cloudflare Turnstile

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect against automated requests. Browser and device information is sent to Cloudflare to check whether a request comes from a human. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in an abuse-free service, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Opening short links

When a short link is opened, we record statistical information such as country, referrer, device type and browser, without building profiles. This helps us detect abuse and see whether the service works.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for simple visitor statistics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and builds no profiles. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Google Analytics

Only if you consent, we use Google Analytics 4 by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics sets cookies and analyses how the website is used. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

The legal basis is your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw it at any time via "Privacy settings" in the footer.

Google Analytics may be loaded via Google Tag Manager. Tag Manager itself sets no cookies but loads the configured services, likewise only after your consent.

Local settings

Your language choice is stored in a strictly necessary cookie (ci8_lang) that is deleted when you close the browser. The legal basis is § 25(2) TDDDG. Your color scheme and your statistics choice are remembered in your browser's local storage. This information never leaves your device. Fonts are served from our own server.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.
